Likely. Friday night we will have some appetizers at the welcome party, Saturday night dinner is provided, and Sunday morning there will be tacos and fruit as a chance for us to say goodbye.
There are restaurants in town and a small grocery store. So think of yourself or your group and plan ahead. Snacks and things are best picked up in Montrose or Durango and leave the grocery store for things you forgot.
Silverton is at an elevation of 9318′, nearly a full mile from our home already in the mountains. So be prepared:
1. Drink extra water days before your trip
2. Take it slow, don’t go climb the biggest peak around on day 1, save that for day 2
3. A strong cocktail will feel like two and a half
On the whole, we’re just suggesting being aware and listening to your body. Any of the above can be ignored, but good to be thinking of it regardless. We want you to have fun, so we thought it useful to mention.
It’s a wedding, so preferably look nice on Saturday. But no need to go buy a new outfit. Come in what makes you feel great.
Outside of the wedding, Colorado and Silverton in particular are known for big temperature and weather changes in a day or few hours. Who knows what the weather will bring until we are closer, but a typical June day might be 45 degrees when you wake up, feel like 95 degrees midday in the sun and no wind, and anywhere in between at anytime. Cloud rolls over and wind kicks up a bit, you might want a light jacket. When you wake up, you might want a bigger jacket. So plan for it all, but we think keeping a light jacket nearby during the day will cover you pretty well. The later hours of the reception will get chilly when the sun goes down, but we can all tuck inside and dance for warmth.
Sunscreen also recommended.

We love our doggos, so totally understand bringing your pup and sharing a hike. For the ceremony and reception on Saturday, we do ask that you have a place for your dog outside of the venue. Please. Again, we love dogs, but want to focus on the people that have come to share the moment.
We support you making a whole family vacation out of the trip. So bring your kids, have a time, but please let us know who to expect for the big day.
